NFL: Brandon Jacobs to Gisele: 'Shut up'

Posted February 8, 2012

Tom Brady's teammates might not blast Gisele Bundchen for her comments about New England Patriots receivers, but New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has no problem doing it.

"She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up," he told reporters Tuesday at MetLife Stadium, where the Giants were honored for beating the Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI.

Patriots receiver Wes Welker failed to make a difficult catch in the fourth quarter that might have helped New England ice a victory. Tight end Aaron Hernandez and wide receiver Deion Branch also had balls hit off their hands during the Patriots' final desperation drive. (MORE>>>)

NFL: Giants, Eli Manning thwart Patriots, Tom Brady again

Posted November 6, 2011

For the New England Patriots and their latest runs of perfection, it was Eli Manning and the New York Giants all over again.

Four season ago, the Giants denied the Patriots' quest for a 19-0 season by beating them in the Super Bowl. Sunday, the Patriots had multiple other streaks on the line. Manning and the Giants won 24-20 in the final moments.

In New York's 17-14 win in Super Bowl XLII, Manning hit Plaxico Burress with the winning touchdown pass with 35 seconds left. In his Sunday encore, Manning cut it even closer. (MORE>>>)

NFL Football: Plenty of changes for Giants, Patriots

Posted November 3, 2011

The last time the New York Giants met the New England Patriots in a game that mattered, it was on February 3, 2008 for Super Bowl XLII. That day, the underdog Giants upset the then-perfect and heavily favored Patriots 17-14.

A lot has changed since those teams met on that historic date. Players and coaches have come and gone. The venue will be at the Patriots' home field, where they have an astonishing 18-1 regular-season record against NFC teams since 2002. (MORE>>>)

NFL Football: Steel Curtain keeps Tom Brady, Patriots off field

Posted October 30, 2011

Heinz Field has mostly been a personal wonderland for Tom Brady [stats]. Yesterday, it was closer to personal purgatory.

“We never played the game with a lead. We never played the game on our terms,” Brady said after the Patriots [team stats] had the ball only about half as many minutes as the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 25-17 loss.

In his seven previous games at Heinz Field, the Pats quarterback was 6-1, including victories in two AFC Championship Games, completing 173-of-255 passes (67.8 percent) for 2,006 yards and 14 touchdowns, with three interceptions. (MORE>>>)

NFL Football: Brady's late TD pass lifts Patriots over Cowboys

Posted October 16, 2011

Tom Brady got the offense going just in time to lead the New England Patriots to the winning touchdown in the final minute of a 20-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Brady threw an 8-yard scoring pass to Aaron Hernandez with 22 seconds left and the Patriots' top-ranked offense overcame the Cowboys' stingy defense.

Dan Bailey's 26-yard field goal had broken a 13-13 tie with 5:13 left. Each team ran one series before the Patriots got the ball after a punt with 2:30 remaining. Brady then completed eight of nine passes for 78 yards on an 80-play drive capped by his pass to Hernandez in the middle of the end zone. (MORE>>>)

NFL Football: Green-Ellis runs for 2 TDs, Patriots beat Jets

Posted October 9, 2011

BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran for a career-high 136 yards and two touchdowns and the New England Patriots beat the New York Jets 30-21 with a vastly improved defense Sunday.

Tom Brady had another strong game, completing 24 of 33 passes for 321 yards and one touchdown as the Patriots scored at least 30 points for the 13th consecutive regular-season game.
