FINAL! Updated For: 04/25/2008

Official Pick:  OT Jake Long- Michigan

1.)Dolphins (1-15):   OT Jake Long- Michigan

(View More Video Highlights Of Jake Long)

Team Needs: Trade Down for more picks, DT, OL, WR, LB, QB

Note: Jake Long is officially the Dolphins pick and already signed his contract with the Dolphins for 5 year $57 Million. The instant success of last years top OT Joe Thomas may have helped Jake Long draft status, Long also had excellent workouts as well. Long will help a bad offensive line right away.

Dolphins 2nd Round Pick: QB Chad Henne- Michigan and CB Tracy Porter- Indiana

Dolphins 3rd Round Pick: DE Jason Jones- Eastern Michigan

Official Pick:  DE Chris Long- Virginia

2.)Rams (3-13):  DL Glenn Dorsey- LSU   *BIO

Team Needs: DL, OL, CB

Note: Rumor has it that the Rams like Chris Long and Vernon Gholston a lot, but they also seems to be just as high on Glenn Dorsey as well if not higher. Either player would help that defensive line, if they select Chris Long or Gholston then Adam Carriker stays inside at DT. If they select Glenn Dorsey then they would be able to move Adam Carriker back outside to DE.

Trading down is still very possible, the Saints are also very high on Dorsey.

Offensive Lineman is a need no question, but with Orlando Pace expected to return, the best move would probably be to try and find a replacement later in the draft that you can sit for a few years until Pace retires.

Alternative Pick: Trade Down, DE Chris Long, DE Vernon Gholston

Rams 2nd Round Pick:  WR James Hardy- Indiana

Rams 3rd Round Pick:  OL Oniel Cousins- U.T.E.P.

Official Pick:  QB Matt Ryan- BC

3.)Falcons (4-12):   QB Matt Ryan- BC

Team Needs:  QB, OL, RB, DT, WR

Note: Signing RB Michael Turner will allow the Falcons to pass on McFadden and focus on other needs like DL or QB.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank is said to be very high on Ryan, but the Falcons GM and Scouts are all very high on Dorsey. If Dorsey is still available then he will probably be the pick, but if he is gone, then the Falcons will be happy to select Matt Ryan.

Alternative Pick: Trade Down, DT Glenn Dorsey, DT Sedrick Ellis

Falcons 2nd Round Pick:  CB Brandon Flowers- Virginia Tech, OT Sam Baker- USC and TE Dustin Keller- Purdue

Falcons 3rd Round Pick:  S DaJuan Morgan- NC State

Official Pick:  RB Darren McFadden- Arkansas

4.)Raiders (4-12):

RB Darren McFadden- Arkansas  *BIO

Team Needs:  OL, DL, WR, LB, S

Note: Why pass on DE's: Chris Long and Vernon Gholston?!?! Well the Raiders still have Derrick Burgess who was just a Pro Bowl DE in 2006, they also found a steal in young DE Jay Richardson who started and gained a lot of experience last season when Tommy Kelly got injured. They also signed former Lions DE Kalimba Edwards, who very well could end up being a great pick up if they use him like they did Chris Clemons last season. So is DE really a need? or could it be that some just figure "since Chris Long is Howie's kid, the Raiders will take him" yes it would make a great story, but if the Raiders draft defense it actually should be inside at DT either Glenn Dorsey or Sedrick Ellis to help against the Run.

If for some reason the Raiders go with a DE, then it will likely be Vernon Gholston because of his athletic ability which Al Davis also loves.

RB is not much of a need for the Raiders either especially after re-signing Justin Fargas, but McFadden is a special player and Al Davis LOVES SPEED and at the combine McFadden confirmed that he has plenty of it. Also Raiders use a Zone Blocking Scheme, McFadden straight ahead, one cut running style would fit that scheme perfectly. Raiders have NO playmakers on offense at any position, so to be able to add a player like McFadden gives JaMarcus Russell a very reliable playmaker he can depend upon and also would help take a lot of pressure off the young QB. Similar to how LaDainian Tomlinson took a lot of pressure off of Philip Rivers his first year as a starter when he took over for Drew Brees.

Alternative Pick: Trade Down, DE Vernon Gholston, DE Chris Long, DT Sedrick Ellis, OL Branden Albert, OT Ryan Clady

Raiders 2nd Round Pick: NONE

Raiders 3rd Round Pick: NONE

Raiders 4th Round Pick:  DT Red Bryant- Texas A&M

Official Pick:  DT Glenn Dorsey- LSU

5.)Chiefs (4-12):   DE Chris Long- Virginia    *BIO

(View More Video Highlights Of Chris Long)

Team Needs:  OL, QB, CB

Note: Could this be the reason why the Chiefs all of a sudden, were willing to trade Jared Allen? They probably know now that DE's Vernon Gholston and Chris Long both could still be available when they select. Chris Long has the motor similar to that of Jared Allen, so he would be a great replacement for Allen, Gholston would be a good replacement for him as well.

With a better offensive line, Brody Croyle might become a much more productive QB, but he did not show enough last season to convince anyone that he is the long term answer at QB. The Chiefs seems to be very high on QB Matt Ryan, Herman Edwards and others from the Chiefs organization apparently spent a lot of time with Ryan during his pro day, so if he is still available they could draft him as well.

Alternative Pick: QB Matt Ryan, OT Ryan Clady, OL Branden Albert, CB Leodis McKelvin, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Chiefs 2nd Round Pick:  QB Joe Flacco- Delaware

Chiefs 3rd Round Pick:  CB Orlando Scandrick- Boise St, WR Early Doucet- LSU and OG Roy Schuening- Oregon St

Official Pick:  DE/LB Vernon Gholston- OSU

6.)New York Jets (4-12)

DE/LB Vernon Gholston- OSU

Team Needs: CB, DL, OLB, OL, WR

Note: The needs upfront on defense have already been addressed by adding Calvin Pace, who had a break out year with the Cards in the 3-4, that was a great move (probably not for that amount of money though), so was trading for Kris Jenkins who can be a dominating NT if he can stay healthy. In a 3-4 defense, two Rush-LB's is very important so Vernon Gholston would still be a great fit even after signing Calvin Pace. Bryan Thomas could end up being a cap casualty or traded, he had a good season in 2006, but he struggled with the switch to a 3-4 last season.

Alternative Pick:  RB Darren McFadden, Trade Down, CB Leodis McKelvin, DT Sedrick Ellis, DT Glenn Dorsey, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Jets 2nd Round Pick: WR Malcolm Kelly- Oklahoma

Jets 3rd Round Pick:  NONE

Official Pick:  DT Sedrick Ellis- USC  (Saints Traded Up For This Pick.)

7.)fromPatriots (5-11):

LB Keith Rivers- USC

Team Needs: LB, CB

Note: Fernando Bryant was a good pick up to at least help try and replace Samuel who signed wit the Eagles. They also signed CB Lewis Sanders and S Tank Williams, both should be able to replace Nickel CB Rudy Gay and back up Safety Eugene Wilson who both signed with other teams.

Trading down and adding future picks is very possible, that is something the Patriots have done the last few drafts. Saints would like to come up and get Sedrick Ellis before the Bengals pick at #9, so the Patriots could trade back and still get Keith Rivers, Jerod Mayo or Derrick Harvey.

Keith Rivers will provide instant impact at LB similar to DeMeco Ryan (Texans) and Patrick Willis (49ers). Rivers is a great athlete, he is talented enough to play every LB position and he is also good at blitzing, which would be perfect for the Patriots 3-4 defense.

Alternative Pick: Trade Down, DE/LB Vernon Gholston, DE/LB Derrick Harvey, CB Leodis McKelvin, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

49ers 2nd Round Pick:  WR Mario Manningham- Michigan

49ers 3rd Round Pick:  OT Anthony Collins- Kansas

Official Pick:  DE Derrick Harvey- Florida (Jaguars Traded Up For This Pick.)

8.)Ravens (5-11):   OT Ryan Clady- Boise St.

(View Video Highlights Of Ryan Clady)

Team Needs:  QB, CB, OLB

Note:  Clady is a true Left Tackle prospect, that gives him a small edge over Branden Albert, who is a Guard that scouts "feel" is athletic enough to play LT in the NFL. Clady would be ready to play at LT right away if Jonathan Ogden retires, not sure if Albert would be since LT is not his natural position. Clady to go with OG Ben Grubbs and OT Jared Gaithers, would give the Ravens and very young and potentially dominating offensive line for years to come.

Alternative Pick: Trade Up, QB Matt Ryan, OL Branden Albert, CB Leodis McKelvin, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Ravens 2nd Round Pick:  QB Brian Brohm- Louisville

Ravens 3rd Round Pick:  CB Trae Williams- South Florida (Comp. Pick)

Official Pick:  LB Keith Rivers- USC

9.)Bengals (7-9):    DT Sedrick Ellis- USC

Team Needs:  DL, LB, OL

Note: Bengals wanted to trade for DT's: Shaun Rogers and/or Dewayne Robertson but was unable to complete a deal. Sedrick Ellis will provide instant impact at DT, his ability to draw double teams will free up DE's on the outside, as well as LB's behind him. Ellis was the reason why USC was so tough against the run.

Phillip Merling would have been a perfect fit for the Bengals, to try and help replace DE Justin Smith who signed with 49ers, but Merling recently had surgery to repair a sports hernia which will now hurt his stock.

Alternative Pick: Trade Up, DT Glenn Dorsey, LB Keith Rivers, LB Jerod Mayo

Bengals 2nd Round Pick:  LB Curtis Lofton- Oklahoma

Bengals 3rd Round Pick:  WR Andre Caldwell- Florida and DE Chris Ellis- Virginia Tech (Comp. Pick)

Official Pick:  LB Jerod Mayo- Tennessee

10.)Saints (7-9):  CB Leodis McKelvin- Troy

Team Needs:  CB, LB, OL, DT, TE

Note: Saints are looking to trade up for either DT's Glenn Dorsey or Sedrick Ellis, that package would likely include picks for 2009, allowing the Saints to keep this years 2nd round pick and possibly trading for Giants TE Jeremy Shockey.

Jason David was a horrible free agent signing and he gave up a lot of big plays this past season. Signing CB Rudy Gay should not effect the Saints draft choice because he is more of a Nickel CB.

No longer should players from Troy be considered "Sleepers" especially with former players from Troy like: (DeMarcus Ware and Osi Umenyiora) both have already made the Pro Bowl twice in their very young careers. Leodis McKelvin is a shut down CB, with probably the best recovery speed and quickness out of all the CB's in this draft. For those that will question his size (5-11 190) or the level of competition he played against, one of his best games came against Oklahoma St, not only as Punt Returner but also playing one of the best WR's in the Big 12 (Adarius Bowman) very tough and physical and holding him to a very average game.

Alternative Pick:  Trade Up, DT Glenn, Dorsey, DT Sedrick Ellis, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, LB Keith Rivers, CB Mike Jenkins, LB Jerod Mayo

Saints 2nd Round Pick:  (Could be traded for Giants TE Jeremy Shockey.)

Saints 3rd Round Pick:  DT Ahtyba Rubin- Iowa St

Official Pick:  CB Leodis McKelvin- Troy

11.)Bills (7-9):   WR Devin Thomas- Michigan St

Team Needs:  CB, LB, WR, TE

Note:  Another playmaker to go with Lee Evans and Marshawn Lynch could make this offense very explosive. A physical but still explosive WR like Devin Thomas would probably be a great fit to go with Evans who is a smaller WR with a lot of speed.

So far Devin Thomas is the only WR without any question marks, Thomas is a big play receiver with excellent speed and the potential to develop into a #1 or no worse then a #2 WR. What is even more impressive about Thomas is his ability to make things happen after the catch, he looks more like a RB then he does a WR with the ball in his hands.

Alternative Pick: LB Keith Rivers, LB Jerod Mayo, CB Leodis McKelvin, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Trade Down

Bills 2nd Round Pick:   CB Justin King- Penn St

Bills 3rd Round Pick:   TE Fred Davis- USC

12.)Broncos (7-9):   OL Branden Albert- Virginia

Team Needs:  OL, DT, LB, S

Note: Branden Albert would be an ideal fit for that Broncos Zone Blocking Scheme as well. He is moving up many draft boards fast because of his versatility, Albert is a dominating guard but has the athletic ability and a little experience playing OT.

Alternative Pick: OT Ryan Clady, OT Chris Williams, RB Jonathan Stewart, RB Rashard Mendendhall

Broncos 2nd Round Pick:  LB Dan Connor Penn St.

Broncos 3rd Round Pick:  NONE

13.)Panthers (7-9):   DE Derrick Harvey- Florida

(View Video Highlights Of Derrick Harvey)

Team Needs:  DE, OT, S, QB, WR

Note: With the recent re-signing of OT Travelle Wharton and OT Jordon Gross getting the franchise tag, Panthers can now address other needs with this pick but OT is still a need with Wharton expected to move inside to Guard. Signing veteran OT Barry Sims is still very possible, then they can try to find a LT for the future in the second round. John Fox is a defense coach so once again he will likely address the defensive side of the ball by either adding another DE or a Safety.

Bring back Muhsin Muhammad was a great move, hopefully Muhammad can become a mentor to Dwayne Jarrett who still has a lot of talent, even though he did not have the instant impact most expected from him.

Julius Peppers best seasons was when DE Mike Rucker was productive on the other side and when Kris Jenkins was productive on the inside. Adding another young pass rusher on the other side at DE like Derrick Harvey, could mean less double teams for Peppers.

Alternative Pick:  DE Phillip Merling, OT Ryan Clady, OL Chris Williams, OL Branden Albert

Panthers 2nd Round Pick:  OL Duane Brown- Virginia Tech

Panthers 3rd Round Pick:  QB Andre Woodson- Kentucky

14.)Bears (7-9):  OL Chris Williams- Vanderbilt

Team Needs:  QB, RB, OL, DT, S

Note:  Re-signing both Grossman and Orton could be a sign that the Bears are not that high on this years group of QB's, other then maybe Matt Ryan who they won't have a chance at drafting unless they trade up.

Williams proved at the combine that he is one of, if not the most athletic Offensive Lineman in this entire draft. Had a few very impressive 40 times and was even more impressive during drills, showing excellent and smooth footwork, he does not move like your typical offensive lineman. He is also versatile and has experience at Tackle and Guard.

The popular pick would be Mendenhall, but this draft has good depth at RB but not much depth for Offensive Lineman. Bears would still be able to draft a very good RB in the 2nd or even 3rd round. Could be some concerns with drafting yet another RB with the first round pick, considering the fact that none of them ever seems to work out for the Bears (Rashaan Salaam, Curtis Enis, Cedrick Benson).

Alternative Pick: OT Jeff Otah, OT Ryan Clady, OL Branden Albert, RB Rashard Mendenhall, RB Jonathan Stewart

Bears 2nd Round Pick:  RB Jamaal Charles- Texas

Bears 3rd Round Pick:  DT Pat Sims- Auburn

15.)Lions (7-9):  LB Jerod Mayo- Tennessee

Team Needs:  RB, OL, LB, S, CB

Note: Jerod Mayo would be a perfect fit at MLB in that new Cover 2 defense, which requires fast and athletic LB's. Mayo is so talented that he could end up having a Patrick Willis type of impact his rookie season.

Durability at RB has been a huge problem for the Lions over the last few season, Mendenhall is a big play RB that would make an instant impact so he could still end up being the pick here as well. It is rumored though that the Lions might actually be higher on RB Jonathan Stewart, so they could trade back up into the bottom of the 1st round if Stewart falls too far because of that turf toe injury.

Lions could also use help on that offensive line, one of the reason why Kitna started to struggle down the stretch, teams was able to get pressure on him a lot more and it started with that game against the Giants.

Signing CB Brian Kelly, Trading for Leigh Bodden and re-signing Travis Fisher and Keith Smith should be enough to address the needs at CB, especially with that defense switching to a Cover 2.

Alternative Pick:  OL Chris Williams, OL Branden Albert, OT Jeff Otah, RB Jonathan Stewart, RB Rashard Mendenhall

Lions 2nd Round Pick:  RB Ray Rice- Rutgers

Lions 3rd Round Pick:  DE Jeremy Thompson- Wake Forest and OL John Greco- Toledo
