Team Draft Reviews !!!

4.) New York Giants (4-12)
Pick: QB Eli Manning- Ole Miss, 6-4 221, 40 yrd Time:-(Official)

1st Round Pick:   QB Eli Manning- Ole Miss

Note: You have to pay the price for a franchise QB and that is what GM Accorsi did, it will take time for Manning to develop like any other young QB but who is better prepared? Manning will have early success because of his ability to read defenses and yes he does call as much audibles as Peyton. The only problem is that the NFC East is going to be very tough and the Giants still have to figure out what they will do at RT. The current plan is to start Snee at RG and move David Diehl to RT, Diehl has pretty good feet and could make the adjustment smoothly.

2nd Round Pick: OG Chris Snee- Boston College

Note:  We hear about Snee being the father to Coughlin's grandchild more then his ability on the field but Snee is an outstanding player and should find away to make an impact right away, he along with Gallery and Smiley was the most impressive OL at the combine. Snee is only listed at 6-2 but he plays bigger and he should develop into another great Boston College OL.

4th Round Pick:   OLB/DE Reggie Torbor- Aub.

Note: Drafting Torbor pretty much tells you that new Defensive coordinator Tim Lewis will either use a lot of  3-4 packages or will eventually shift to a 3-4 defense full time. Torbor is a very similar to Clark Haggans when he was at Colorado State, who the Giants also tried to sign this off season. Torbor will likely be the 3-4 rush LB when Lewis uses his 3-4 packages.

5th Round Pick:   S Gibril Wilson- Tenn.

Note: Coming into the season it was Tennessee Safety Rashad Baker getting all the hype but Wilson was the one making plays all season. Wilson is an explosive tackler despite not having much size at 6-0 197 but he plays much bigger, could develop into Stoutmire's replacement sooner then expected.

6th Round Pick:  WR Jamaar Taylor- Texas A&M

Note: Sit him for a full year and let the knee heel and you will have a steal! Taylor is a playmaker that can make plays after catch, he is listed at almost 6-1 197 but he is very strong. Could develop into a #2 type WR!

7th Round Pick:    OT Drew Strojny- Duke

Note:  Strojny is more of a developmental type player similar to the way the Giants developed Mike Rosenthal a few years ago but Strojny has more talent to work with. Solid Pick!

7th Round Pick:    DE Isaac Hilton- Hampton

Note:  Still not clear why Hilton fell this far, but the Giants are getting a huge steal in Hilton especially this low, he should not only make the team but no matter where they decide to play him, either LB or DE, he will suprise many and develop into a pretty good player. 4.49 speed at 6-3 251 is plenty of talent to work with, would not be suprise if the Giants find ways to use his speed either as a 3rd down pass rusher and Special Teams player right away.
